New Hobby Take 2

Thom has been encouraging me to take up golf again. I took it up a few years ago but gave up after a nasty run in with a grumpy old man on a course in Norwich. I have a goal to be able to play a game with T by next summer so that we can play together on holiday. So far, so good, I have had a lesson and am going to the driving range each week. Apparently golf is becoming more popular and 'cool' in our age group but unfortuately none of my friends agree so it is a solitary pursuit at this stage. Ho hum. The driving range is a peaceful place (when others aren't swearing at their mis-hit balls) andit gets you outside and into the fresh air. Best of all there are handy intercoms in the booths so you an order a latte and/or snacks to be brought to you whist you are practicing your swing.
Only 26 to go...
Shame about the footwear!

Gardener's World

Today Thom's parents, Sue and Bryan came to visit. They arrived like a special forces swat team, armed with shiny gardening implements and large boots. They got to work, fighting off rogue vines and prickly weeds. Thom and I are still getting used to the idea of having a garden let alone what to do with it.
We really appreciated their help and when they left, as quickly as they had arrived, the garden looked great.
These green-fingered troopers also come armed with freshly baked cake! (Note the beautiful sunny day - in November!)

PHHOOOOAAARRR!!

Sue took care of the front,

Whilst Thom, Bryan and I worked on the back.
